Preston’s Road Flyover, London

The bearing shelf of the flyover at Preston’s Road in East London had become heavily infested with many breeding pairs of pigeons. The management company responsible for maintenance of the flyover had incurred significant costs to clean the nests and faeces, and pedestrians passing under the flyover had suffered from spoilage of clothing. On 21 July 2015, 4,150 dishes of Bird Free Optical Gel were applied to the bearing shelf and flanges of the eastern end of the flyover. Further inspections of the site in October 2015 and September 2016 have confirmed that the infestation has been eliminated. Although the gel had become discoloured in such a dirty environment, Bird Free Optical Gel remains effective.
